Do you have kids or do you know anyone who has kids?
Would you ever think that teaching kids about being in touch with their emotions would contribute to green living or sustainable living? Emotional Intelligence in kids seems a long way from our normal definition of sustainable living…
Well that’s part of my role of supporting you here on Blue Planet Custodians, because I believe for sustainability and sustainable living, it’s really important to teach our children about expressing themselves and about learning how to act as emotional beings in this human body we are in.
So as we go along, I will be talking to you about ways that you can teach your kids simple things that still aren’t in the school system like emotional intelligence and learning that it’s okay to express yourself. It’s okay to be angry when you are angry. And it’s okay to cry. You know big girls do cry and big boys do cry sometimes too. So it’s really important, I believe, these days to help our children understand that and to facilitate them so that they can contribute to sustainable living by sustaining themselves and becoming resilient human beings.
Being compassionate and gentle with yourself, naturally leads to being a compassionate human being to the greater community.
To see the world as a living breathing organism that supports all of us is a gift, but we can only reach this understanding when we start with ourselves. By starting with our children we give them this gift in the hope they will pass this gift on to their children. Wouldnt the world be a different place if Emotional Intelligence in Kids was one of our subjects in schools!
Learning emotional intelligence is a really important part of sustainable living and on Blue Planet Custodians I’d love you to find out more about that with our assistance!
